Remember the Alamo.

^^^When you find good lighting at the Alamo, you take advantage of it.

 ^^^Anyone recognize this stage?
^^^Seriously in love with the decor in Mi Tierra
Do you ever just feel the need to get out of town and take a break from your routine? I know I do, probably a little too often, if we're being honest here. Last Friday, the best friend and I decided we needed a break and took a day trip to San Antonio.

Sometime in the last two weeks, Hayden and I were talking about how I (a Texas resident) had never been to Mi Tierra, the most famous and delicious Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, and Hayden (a Florida resident) had been twice. We decided it was time to right this wrong and planned a whole day around eating Mexican food.

The weather just so happened to be absolutely gorgeous on Friday and we had such a nice time exploring San Antonio. When I'm traveling, I'm always reminded that no matter how many times you visit a city, there is always something else left to discover. San Antonio is full of hidden gems and is such a beautiful and historical city.

Hayden and I started our day by visiting the St. Mark's Episcopal Church where LBJ and Lady Bird Johnson got married in 1934. We then went to Remember the Alamo and explore the grounds around the Alamo in Downtown. After that, we roamed around the Riverwalk before heading to lunch. It was finally time for me to finally try Mi Tierra and, let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I'm convinced their tortillas are handmade by angels.

We also went to some of the missions at the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, which were beautiful. We ended the day at the Mad Hatter's Tea House, an adorable place with some delicious cheesecake. Sadly, I was so enamored by the cheesecake I forgot to take any photos of this cozy, little, Alice in Wonderland house.

So, if you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by San Antonio and exploring it just a tad bit. It has quite a lot to offer (and eat).

Until next time, H

Bite the Bullet.

Hey, hi, hello, my name is Hannah French and I'm a twenty year old college student living in Austin, Texas, in the process of figuring out what I want to be when I grow up.

I’m currently studying public relations at the University of Texas with an expected graduation date of December 2016 (ah!). My dream is to one day work for an organization that positively benefits the lives of children. And I’m trying to figure out how I can make that dream a reality. (I have one new, possible job prospect that I’m considering and super excited about, but I’ll share more about that at another time!!)

My two favorite things (in no particular order) are traveling and eating. I have a bucket list a mile long and I keep adding new things to it everyday. I’m sure this blog will become like a sort of scrapbook for all the places I hope to explore.

2016 is going to be a year filled with change (I’ve already experienced quite a lot of it, actually). And I decided I wanted to document those changes and my experiences through a blog, so I have a way to share anything and everything about my life with anyone and everyone that might want to read it.

Up until now, I've been hesitant to start blogging and have had a hell of a time trying to decide what my first post should be about. But I decided that it’s time to just bite the bullet and post something, hoping that once I have the first post, the second, third and fourth will be easier to write!

So, thanks for deciding to join me on this little journey of mine and I sure hope you will please Pardon My French
