^^^ Best friends since high school! If we look like a hot mess, it's because we are one.
^^^ would you just look at this sweet face? I don't think it gets any cuter than that!
^^^ A childhood dream come true! Going to the Dixie Chicks concert was definitely a highlight of my summer!
^^^ my happy place!
^^^ my happy place!
Okay, okay, OKAY, okay, okay!!! I'm back, I'm back. Well, maybe....
Just kidding, I'm back for good!
I hope you enjoyed the little snapshots of my summer. Sorry for the long hiatus. It was unexpected but needed. My summer was a whirlwind and it mainly consisted of four things: work, work, sleep and work. And did I say work? I'm not complaining though, I loved my summer job. I was a camp director in Houston and I couldn't have had a more fun summer! From the people I worked with to the kiddos I saw all summer, I feel so fortunate to have had a job I loved (and miss!!) so dearly.
When I wasn't working, though, I was sleeping or spending time with my sweet little nephew Hank. You guys, Hank Owen is just the cutest, sweetest, most handsome little man there ever was! I adore him to pieces and being away from him is just about one of the hardest things I've ever had to do!
I did have a one short little break in the middle of the summer and I got the opportunity to travel abroad for a week! Hayden spend her summer studying abroad in London, so I went to visit her and explore that city that I loved so much! I'll write separate posts talking about my trip London (and Paris!!). The posts might be coming two months after the trip, but hey, better late than never, right?! I will say that I did have the absolute best time in Europe though. My travels went so smoothly, the cities were incredible and it felt so nice to get away and escape to a different place for a short bit.
I've been back at school for a good month now and I've been trying to enjoy every minute of it. Truthfully, I haven't had much school since I've been back in Austin. Classes have been slow and I've spent most of my time during the week at my internship at a local nonprofit. But I have been exploring new places in Austin and the surrounding areas, and falling more in love with the hill country everyday.
I've come to the conclusion that I am a river girl. I just friggin' love Texas rivers, y'all. Hayden and I have been to the river a couple times since being back in Central Texas and I can't get enough of it! I would float the river every darn day, if I could. The rivers are so peaceful, beautiful and a much needed break from this 100 degree weather. I'm happy I won't have to relocate too far from all these hill country rivers after graduation....
Which leads me to other news that I can't quite share publicly yet!!! Yay!!!! If you've talked to me in person, you probably know, but if not, well I guess you'll just have to wait! I have exciting news to share in about ~ten~ days or so! Stay tuned!!
Okay I think that's enough for now. I'll be sharing photos and stories about my summer travels soon, as well as other fun things (hopefully!). I'm excited to get back into the swing of things on here. I do hope you'll pardon me for being so absent for so long! xo
